Laura Lavilla

Singer

Born in Madrid, she began her musical studies at the age of nine, beginning her training as a singer with Josefina Montiel in Zaragoza as well as her medical career. He perfected and finished his studies at the "Joaquín Rodrigo" Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia with the soprano Gloria Fabuel.

He has taken courses to improve vocal technique and interpretation with: W. Rieger (German lied), M. Zanetti (repertoire) C. Chausson ("THE singer at the opera"), H. Lazarska (vocal technique), G. Fabuel ("The voice at the opera"), Dalton Baldwin (lied), Mark Hastings (repertoire), Jorge Rubio (repertoire), Ana María Sánchez (repertoire), Ileana Cotrubas and Mirella Freni in Modena.

Scholarship in the "Stage Master for Singers" taught by Giancarlo del Mónaco organized by the Alcalá de Henares Foundation, from which she is given the opportunity to start as a cover alongside great singers like Daniela Dessí in different theaters.

She has been repeatedly awarded for her interpretive work, standing out in the following competitions: first prize in the F. Simionato Contest, first prize for female voices at the Sanmilírico Festival; award for the best zarzuela singer in the International Singing Contest of Alcoy de Alicante, prize in the Mirna Lacambra Contest for the interpretation of the main character in Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica, finalist in 2014 in the International Zarzuela Contest "Ana María Iriarte ”.

In the opera section, he has played different roles, among which are: Menotti's Telephone, Wolf-Ferrari's Il segreto di Susanna, the Countess in Mozart's Las Bodas de Figaro, Floria and Tosca in Puccini's Tosca, Medea by Cherubini, Mimi in La Bohème, Liú in Turandot by Puccini, Alice in Verdi's Falstaff, Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, Nedda in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Desdemona in Verdi's Otello, Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's Mme Butterfly, Margarita in Fausto by Gounod. As for Zarzuela, he has performed among others: Los Gavilanes, La del manojo de rosas, La Rosa del Azafrán, La Verbena de la Paloma, La Revoltosa, La Corte del Pharaoh, La Reina Mora, etc ... Within the oratory he has performed: Verdi's Requiem, Brahms's German Requiem, and Dvorak's Stabat Mater.

She currently works as a singing teacher at the Municipal School of Toledo, as well as a collaborator of the postgraduate courses in Musical Theater at Stanford University in its Spanish delegation in Madrid.

Regular guest in the teaching of courses on voice and interpretation in the different official Spanish conservatories and Latin American music centers.
